Program
            Rules

                                                                                                                         Rules/ Requirements/ Guidelines
General


1.    Client is bound by all violations of rules and understands violations may result in dismissal at any time.
2.    Visitors, including former VOH clients, sponsors, family, and significant others, are not allowed in the house at any time without the approval of the house manager or VOH staff.
3.    No disruptive behavior is allowed. Any behavior that upsets the serenity of the home will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal.
4.    No loitering in front of the property for any reason without approval from the house manager. 
Smoking and vaping are only permitted in a designated area(s). NO EXCEPTIONS.
5.    Law enforcement will not be called to the residence unless it is a true emergency without prior approval from staff.
6.    There is no eating in the bedrooms or living rooms and no sleeping in common areas. Shirts and pants/shorts must be worn at all times when in the common areas.
7.    Client must obey instructions or directions given by the house manager or staff. 
Insubordination or disrespect for the house manager or other Client (s) may result in dismissal.
8.    Client acknowledges VOH will not be responsible for lost or stolen property.
9.    Client understands that VOH rules are subject to change without notice.
10.  Lights out are 10:30 pm Sunday-Thursday and 11:30 pm Friday-Saturday in bedrooms and common 
areas. There is no TV, radio, cooking, being in a common area, or unnecessary noise between these hours.
11.  Upon discharge from the program, any belongings left at the house will be discarded after 72 hours.

Restriction (first 30 days, write up or rent restrictions)

12.  Clients must have another client with over 30 days accompany them when leaving the house, except for medical, court/probation, volunteer, and work.
13.  The chairperson must sign the NA/AA meeting verification at every meeting for the first 30 days.
14.  Client must get a sponsor, home group, and service commitment within thirty (30) days of admission.
15.  Client may not get a ride anywhere with another client that is on restriction or any unapproved person. The house manager will approve acceptable individuals to transport Client to an approved destination on a case-by- case basis. Client must obtain approval from the house manager before leaving the house with anyone not in the VOH program.
16.  Client will make every effort to go with someone with more than 30 days and plan their activities or make the best effort. Upon approval of the house manager, clients may be accompanied by another client on restriction only when they cannot find a non-restricted client to accompany them.

Meetings/Step Work

17.  Client must attend 90 twelve-step recovery meetings in 90 days. Client must attend and participate in weekly house and group meetings during their stay. After 90 days, Client must attend a minimum of four outside (4) NA/AA outside meetings per week. Zoom meetings should only be used as a last resort and should not be used as regular meeting attendance. Zoom meetings are limited to one (1) per week.
​18.  Client must be doing step work to remain in the program and be prepared to show house manager/staff.

Rent/Work

19.  If a client has ANY past due rent balance, they are placed on immediate restriction (see restriction rules). Rent restriction can be lifted when a re-payment plan has been provided and the first payment is made. Rent plans are due by Saturday by 11 pm.
20.  It is Client's responsibility to review their weekly invoices. Any discrepancies must be reported within seven days of receipt of the invoice. Discrepancies must be submitted via email and a detailed description of the discrepancy.
21.  If a client is unemployed, they must complete 4 hours of volunteer work and 4 hours of job searches M-F. Client ffort to obtain employment if not employed and promptly provide proof of employment, work schedule, and pay stubs upon request.
22.  Client's work schedule cannot interfere with meeting or house requirements. Work is limited to 48 working hours per week. Any changes to work must be submitted on the first weekly report after the change. Clients cannot work between the hours of 11:00 pm and 5:00 am.

Accountability

23.  Client acknowledges personal areas are subjected to search by a VOH staff member at any time.
24.  Curfew is 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11 pm on Friday and Saturday after the first 30 days. Must be awake by 6:00 am. Monday through Friday and have their bed made before leaving their room. There is no sleeping during the day. Clients must be awake by 8:00 am on weekends.
25.  Overnight visits may be granted after 60 days at the house manager's discretion and upon submitting an overnight request form at least seven days in advance. Overnight requests will not be granted to a client who is past due in rent. Overnights are limited to two nights per month.
26.  Clients must sign out/in on the VOH accountability app each time they leave/arrive home.
27.  Client is required to submit a weekly report by 12:01 am every Sunday for the first 90 days.
28.  Client must never ask or agree to lending or borrowing food, money, personal items, cigarettes, etc.

Cleanliness/Chores

29.  The Client must perform weekly and daily chores to the house manager's satisfaction.
30.  Client must immediately clean up after themselves at all times. There are to be no dishes in the sink at any time. Dishes must be cleaned immediately after use.
31.  Client must do laundry on the assigned date or forfeit/exchange their laundry day.

Drug Use/Testing/Prescriptions

32.  There will be absolutely no refunds for clients dismissed due to testing positive for drugs, forbidden supplements, and alcohol or violating the rules after warning. Client is subject to random drug testing at Client's expense of $6.00 each.
33.  Prescription   medications   will   be   monitored.   Bottles   for   all   medications,   including   over-the-counter   and supplements,  must  be  kept  in  your  possession  for  up  to  two  weeks  after  taking  them,  and  inform  the  house manager immediately of any medication 
changes. All prescription medications must be disclosed to staff during the entire admission to the program. Psychiatric medications may not be discontinued without physician approval documentation submitted to the house manager.
34.  Client is required to report any known or suspected drug/alcohol use or violation of rules to the house manager.
35.  There are no illegal drugs, alcohol, or unapproved prescription medications allowed. VOH does not allow narcotic benzodiazepines, opiates, suboxone, or ADHD medication. Some herbalsupplements are forbidden (Kratom, Kava, or any other mind-altering supplement).
